185 organizations sent a letter to Gov. DeSantis & state leaders, urging them to take action on Summer EBT 2025. Although the Aug. deadline passed, there is still time for the state to opt-in.
The Safety Net Advocacy Coalition (SNAC) is a group of individuals and organizations committed to defending and strengthening Florida's safety net programs. These programs include Medicaid, Reemployment Assistance (Unemployment Insurance), SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families), and WIC (Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children).
Members represent more than 180 organizations including direct service and community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, local funders and foundations, research and advocacy groups, legal services, food banks, and other interested groups.
SNAC is a resource for quality policy research, a diverse network of advocates with complementary goals, and a statewide coalition that mobilizes to support solutions informed by the expert knowledge of safety net program participants. Members are connected to SNAC through a personal, volunteer, or professional interest. Individuals with experience using safety net programs and representatives from organizations that work closely with program participants should join SNAC. Some members join SNAC to receive policy updates that they can share with program participants. Some members join SNAC to influence how policies are implemented through administrative advocacy. All members engage at their comfort level and make an important contribution to defending and strengthening safety net programs in Florida.
